Anna Levine, Esq.

Anna Levine, Esq., Executive Director (LCL)Anna joined LCL as Executive Director in December 2016, following 9 years in private practice, including three years as a business and finance associate at Bulkley, Richardson and Gelinas, LLP and six years as the Managing Partner of the Law Offices of Couture and Levine, both in Springfield, Massachusetts. She has served as legal advisor to multiple not-for-profit organizations. For the two years immediately preceding her move to LCL, Anna’s practice focused on court-appointed bar advocate work for indigent defendants in the Springfield District Court. Her work in the District Court brought her into frequent and close contact with clients suffering from a variety of mental health and substance use disorders and also made her acutely aware of the unique pressures and stresses that attorneys in public service face.

Anna is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the States of Connecticut and New York. She serves as a board member to two not-for-profit organizations, both of which have connections to either the delivery of mental health services or support to individuals in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Anna worked for three years as a professional conference organizer in Japan. In addition to having completed a Juris Doctor from Western New England University School of Law, Anna has earned an MA in Political Science from the University of Washington, a Masters in Human and Environmental Studies from Kyoto University and a BA in Political Science from Columbia University.
