While the focus on addiction has shifted to its neurological and biochemical roots, understanding its impact on families remains crucial. This session with Dr. Fortgang will explore key concepts that affect loved ones:

  • Family Dynamics: How addiction impacts spouses, children, and friends.
  • Adult Children of Alcoholics: Examining common traits developed in this environment.
  • Codependency & Enabling: Unraveling unhealthy coping mechanisms within families.
  • Family Interventions: Exploring this approach to fostering recovery.

Dr. Fortgang will review these concepts, and how they can be of either considerable or limited utility depending on individual circumstances.
